PROJECT OVERVIEW

Moki Place is a 28 Unit upmarket residential development located in Long Bay on Auckland’s North Shore. The development comprises a range of housing typologies, including nine terraced units (which function-like apartments), eight pairs of duplexes and one two storey standalone dwelling. The units are two and three storeys, containing 3-4 bedrooms (and/or a study). Each unit has a master bedroom, ensuite bathroom, a high amenity private outdoor living space and garaging for two vehicles.

THE CONTEXT AND CHALLENGE

The proposal underwent an extensive design process and testing of alternative options, with various specialists involved from the concept design stage. Careful attention was given to urban design, traffic, infrastructure servicing and planning matters, so that the development responded optimally to the site’s “Terrace Housing and Apartment Building Zone”.

THE RESULT

The architecturally designed dwellings set a new standard in contemporary living. Unsurpassed attention to detail and intuitive seamless design combine to create lifestyle living within 200m walking distance of the new Long Bay Village, with its supermarket, eateries and retail outlets. Long Bay Primary School and College is within 600m and Long Bay Beach only 800m away.

This quality development achieves the aspirational urban design, planning and environmental objectives of the Long Bay Precinct, while responding the site’s relatively steep topography. In the words the developer, Henk Kamffer, Haines Planning provided “excellent service, professionalism and careful attention to detail. Sound planning advice and successful outcome“.
