David Haines is a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager and Chartered Town Planner with over 30 years experience in resource management and town planning. He has worked in both central and local government agencies in New Zealand and has practised as a consultant planner and environmental manager for the past 25 years throughout New Zealand, England, Wales and Fiji.
David is an elected Fellow of the NZ Planning Institute, being only one of few such planners in New Zealand to be afforded this status. This acknowledgement recognises his distinguished long service and noteworthy contributions to the planning profession, particularly services to the business community, planning education and mentoring of younger planners.
David combines his environmental and planning backgrounds to assist clients in the formulation of development projects that are responsive to both market requirements and meet modern day standards for environmentally responsible development. His project management experience is applied when leading teams of technical specialists on large scale projects.
Depending on project specifications, David advises clients on the establishment of carefully selected project teams to ensure the best possible specialist advice is given. He also provides planning appraisals of developments and due diligence reporting to assist clients with investment, planning risk and timing decisions.
